Traffic Signs

Traffic signs are a common sight along roads, and they provide important information for drivers and pedestrians. Modern traffic signs have a very long history, but their use gained momentum only after the development of automobiles. They convey information about hazards, specific rules like speed limits or allowable parking spots and information about distances and destinations. Most countries use pictorial and standardized systems for traffic signs to enhance traffic safety and eliminate language barriers for international travelers.

Traffic Signs for All Uses

There are several categories of traffic signs, but there are four major types: warning signs, information signs, priority signs and prohibitory signs. Signs can appear as road markings, vertical signs on poles on the sides of roads, signs mounted above multiple lane highways or even as traffic lights. Although many different systems exist around the world, a common feature is that they were all designed so that people can easily understand them while driving.
